The Portuguese landed here in A D 1500. The friars who accompanied them gave an order to Christians supported by the Jesuits who came in A D 1524. The Portuguese further developed its ports to thriving spice trading points. They contributed by way of collecting and recording the available information of the rich natural resources which was through years of hard work which made the greatest library in Asia here in fort Kochi which had unique books. Their control on its political base was wrested by the Dutch invaders in AD 1663.

They too used its natural harbors as trading points over 120 years along with the British who arrived in AD 1765 and colonized it for over 182 years. The advent and domination of these three super power have, contributed and Influenced our culture which stand old and antiquated which you come across in your journeys to take away memories as SOUVENIRS FROM THE PAST.

The present day state of kerala came into being on 1ST nov 1956 by merging two princely states Travancore Cochin and Malabar which was under the Madras presidency with the social health index almost at par with a developed nation and 100% literate population, low mortality rate, the state is on a progressive note.

With its palm fringed white sandy beaches to lush green landscape and mist shrouded mountains, flowing rivers, backwaters and lagoons which unfolds the cultural canvas indigenous to its culture with the frenzied tempo of snake boat race, the classical diginity of kathakali, the controlled skill of kalari payattu and with its gifted craftsmen still crafting master pieces to adorn the temples and homes made this land one of the best 50 destinations the world over.
