The colonial style bungalow with medium pitched sheet roof and cut rock walls was built in 1953. The building stands aloof from the madding crowd on the Erunnakutty hill of over a hundred acres, a beautiful strip of land developed by the early planters at Koottickal in Mundakayam ValleyThe granite and tarmac paved driveway leads up to the front of the bungalow, margined by shady trees on all four sides. There is a verandah on the west with the lawn flowing up to the mud-tiled floorings, setting a perfect place to relax and have a cup of coffee or tea. The flame of the forest trees, nattu mangroves and a thick grove of shady trees form the boundary to the natural greenery sprawling downwards. The view from the western corner of the lawn is an unlimited stretch of plantations and settlements across Sahya mountain ranges.
Accommodation
The two bedrooms on the south is cool and a bit dark even at noon time, cozy enough for totally undisturbed short-day naps.
