The Evergreen Estate BungalowThe Evergreen Estate Bungalow was built in 1955, during a time when the architecture of the valley was being influenced by the British colonial style. This bungalow also reflects a quaint blend of local style with a mild overlay of colonial architecture.

Tall interior with many tilt windows running across the eastern side of the house let in lots of day light and fresh air. The medium pitched sheet roofs are timber gabled. Placed atop a gentle hill amidst an evergreen rubber and spice plantations of just over a hundred acres, not far from the little village township of Koottickal, Kerala the house is remarkable for its calm and quite surroundings. The steep hill to the north east form a close backdrop of plantation, to the bungalow. The highranges of Western Ghats rising steeply from the base of the township can be viewed across from the southern side of the bungalow.

The cool spaces of the verandah on the south east, the cute sit out on the west and the cozy north ward facing patio which blur boundaries between indoors and outdoors is filled with calm and green to retreat to when you want to be by yourself.

The guests can relax on its lawns late to the evenings as the host takes care of them as a part of their family. The furniture are mostly of local origin and may appear as abstracts of Queen Anne to Mid-Victorian. An unique piece among them is the horse shoe shaped dining table May be one of its kind.

Accommodation
The bungalow has two bedrooms one on the south east and the second adjacent to the first on north west, well ventilated and comfortable. The sit-outs can be used by the guests at anytime of the day in total privacy.
