Even though highest priority is given to hygiene, a 100% foolproof insect and pest control in house may not be possible so occasional appearances of domestic flies, insects and pest should be expected and care should be taken to carry repellents and mild medicines suiting your skin types as some of your brands may not be available and the local remedies may be allergic to you.

All the properties are of period construction and hence do not have ultra modern bedrooms, the bathrooms though are in keeping with the times.

All the properties serve tasty, home-cooked food and you have the option of interacting with the host to set the menu for each meal.

CLIMATE
The general climatic conditions of kerala has changed in the recent years with the temperature levels higher compared to a decade ago.

HIGHLAND PROPERTIES
ALTITUDE Between 600 MSL TO 1000MSL
Min Temp =10c Max temp 25C
THE AVERAGE TEMP OFTHE HIGHLAND RANGES BETWEEN 15 C TO 20 C
THE IDEAL SEASON TO BE AT THESE PROPERTIES is between SEPTEMBER to JANUARY, this is in view of the greenery of flora and the gushing rivulets which makes the destination colorful and less crowded in anticipation to the increase of domestic tourist towards the hill regions starting in FEBRUARY.

CLOTHING
INFORMAL COTTONS ARE IDEAL.
But the. Months between sept –dec does have rains at intervals so the fickle weather makes it essential to have warm and rain proofing clothing’s.

PROTECTIVES
These months do have the insect LEECH in the plantations so leech guards will to an extent help protect ourselves when on a trek and local protection using salt [SALINE WATER] or snuff powder made from tobacco is also found helpful.

To fight them any available repellents from your country may be the best to carry as a safe guard.

Mosquito are not very common in high altitude properties but we still use vaporizing repellents in the bedrooms to rule out the any chances of their disturbances.

MIDLAND PROPERTIES
The ALTITUDE is between 150MSL TO 200MSL
Min temp 22c max temp 36c
The average temperature is between 28 c to 31c
The ideal season to be at the properties on the midland slopes is August to December.
This is in view of the higher temperature levels recorded in the recent years averaging 32c from January onwards scaling up to 36c in march -April and keralas cultural season is at its best in AUG-SEPT, with its pleasant climate and cleansing rains the stay at the midland properties in lush greenery is cozy at these times of the year.

CLOTHING
Informal cottons are suited best.

PROTECTIVES
Mosquitoes are seen up to October in the evenings on to which vaporizing repellents are used to avoid disturbances which is well within control.

The insect LEECH are seldom seen in plantations over the last recent years due to pest control

HINDERLAND PROPERTIES
These coastal and backwater properties at par or just below sea level averages temperatures at just above 32c which goes up to 37c on a hot and humid Feb. to April.

The ideal time to enjoy stay at these properties of kerala are august to December in view of the cultural events taking place in sept-oct season and the pleasant climate of cooling rains and to avoid the rush of domestic holidayers starting in the latter half of December.

CLOTHING
Informal cottons are better but again the fickle weather demands a few rain proof outfits to avoid inconveniences when on a boating or a village walk.

The attack of mosquito’s is a disturbance which is fought with various methods of proofing for mosquito control but still repellents are to be carried along in case of any allergy which can cause to you.
