Day 2
After breakfast we transfer you to Alleppy by road known as the Venice of the east which is an hour drive from kochi were you embark on the houseboat, the cruise starts at 11.30 am. Houseboats of two bedrooms Air-conditioned are mostly offered which cruises towards kumarakom on vembanad lake, all meals from lunch to next day breakfast is offered on the boat.

The boat anchors at 6 pm on a shallow bay along the lake, night on board.

Day 3
The boat reaches kumarakom by 9 am, disembark and we move towards the cardamom hills, which is a 3.30 hours drive with a halt at the midland slopes of at the foothills of periyar called mundakayam valley known for the earliest rubber plantations to refresh in an old planters club.

The drive uphill from the is along the tea plantations offering panoramic views.
Reach mullayar estate bungalow 10 km before periyar sanctuary. The bungalow is set among a working cardamom plantation.

Check in and relax after having lunch. Enjoy the evening, as there is nature at your call along the nature trails and watch wild animals on the bordering forest of the plantation.
Have a barbeque at night and relax.

Day 4
After breakfast we move on to the periyar sanctuary which is a 30 min drive, check into a hotel named wildernest which is a petite little accommodation with spacious rooms just outside the sanctuary after having lunch enjoy the nature around and board the 2 pm boat ride along the sanctuary lake for wildlife sighting or rich and the varied flora around.

Back to the boat landing by 4 pm and out from the sanctuary. Relax at the hotel or just be on the spice-trading town on the hills of periyar. Dinner and rest at the hotel.

Day 5
After breakfast we move on to munnar, which is a 4 hr, drive; reach a bungalow named kaniamallay or parvathi owned by the leading tea planting company all along offering the rolling tea gardens with fine views of nature in many moods.

After lunch we can visit the tea measeum and just be at the Munnar Township to see how the plantation community treads their daily life. Back to the bungalow Relax and have dinner.

Day 6
At munnar we have many viewpoints and sanctuaries were we see some of the rarest species of flora and fauna the nilgri thar an endangered mountain goat being one of them. Which is seen at Rajmallay. The highest peak south of Himalayas is in the vicinity from Rajmallay. After spending the time at these places of interests we may relax at the high range planters club in the evening and retire to the bungalow.

Day 7
After breakfast we move towards kochi which is a 4 hr drive.
Reach Ballard bungalow by 2 pm the same hotel we stayed on day one.
Relax and depart as per flight schedule on the same day or the next day.

Kochi - Periyar - Kochi 6 Days 5 Nights

Day1

The boat reaches kumarakom by 9 am, disembark and we move towards the periyar forest, which is a 4 hours drive with a halt at the midland slopes of at the foothills of periyar called mundakayam valley known for the earliest rubber plantations to refresh in an old planters club. After refreshments we head towards the periyar reserve bungalow, the finest jungle retreats amidst the only private plantation in the periyar tiger reserve were we could see the wild animals at close quarters.

We reach at the bungalow set amidst the lush cardamom plantation canopied with the forest cover by 1 pm. Relax for a while and we start the afternoon safari through the forest to a serene lake and do a row boating which is panoramic drive just 30 min away.
Back to the bungalow by 6 pm relax and get started for the night were we offer a unique barbeque done using a local recipe called mud chicken on fire. Enjoy the sounds of the wilderness from the balcony of the bungalow done in wood.

Relax for the hard days or catch up on the reading you left behind or just be to yourself. And retire for the day.

Day 4
For the early risers the jungle is all-awake with surprises as we can go for a morning safari and get back for breakfast by 9 am. The chances for sighting animals are more in the early morning.

After breakfast pm just take a dip in the brook flowing close by the bungalow in the pristine water nature gives you straight from heaven.

Have lunch and take a nap or just take your time to explore around as you wish.

After relaxing for some time watch the working of the cardamom plantation as we go for a round through the plantation either by foot or on a jeep. On the route is a great Indian hornbill nest with the bird fluttering around which is a rare sighting not to be missed.

Just be to yourself and enjoy the nature around as you have you tea time

After some time we will have a dinner around the open fire in the mist shrouded forest cover engulfing the bungalow. Retire for the day.

Day 5
After breakfast move from the bungalow and head towards mundakayam valley and check into evergreen bungalow by 12 pm, which is in the rubber country.

Relax for some time and watch the rubber and its process. After lunch you may take your time by being to yourself.

Teatime can be spend for interacting with the family and just have a walk around not to miss your daily laps. Have dinner as you wish, early or late as the family takes care of you personally. Retire for the day

Day 6
After breakfast we move on to kochi and check into Ballard bungalow by 1 pm. Relax and depart as per flight schedule on the same day or the next day.

Kochi - Periyar - Kumarakom - Alleppy - Kochi 6 Days 5 Nights.

Day 1
We welcome you at the airport and transfer to fort Cochin. We check into a restored Portuguese building offering stay as BALLARD BUNGALOW in air-conditioned well-appointed rooms with private balcony.

Relax for the day and see the historical fort Cochin at you ease after relaxation.

Day 2
After break fast we leave to periyar, which is five-hour drive with a break at a planters club at mundakayam valley, which is at the foothills of periyar after four hours from kochi.

Refresh at the club and proceed to Henwoods bungalow set amidst tea plantation.
The panoramic setting around and the cool climate makes you feel at home in this little colonial home restored for travelers preferring privacy. Have lunch and relax, by evening have a nature walk within the plantation enjoying its greenery. Enjoy the night with some beverages and snacks. Have dinner and rest.

Day 3
After an early break fast we move to the wild side of periyar into the northern flanks of the tiger reserve which is 50km drive from Henwoods taking 1.30 hours were we traverse the final 25 km through the forest and check into a forest lodge called green mansion operated by Kerala forest development corporation within a spice plantation surrounded by the forest, we have various activities like trekking, boating in this serene location were wildlife sighting is common on our way or en-route the trekking trails, the location offer panoramic views of the western ghats.

After the morning trek lasting 3 to 5 hours depending on the route we choose get back to the lodge were vegetarian food is served for lunch. Relax for a while and do a boat ride, check out from the lodge by 5 pm and be back to Henwoods by 7 pm.

Enjoy the evening after freshening up and have dinner. A sound sleep will be your priority after the great outdoor.

Day 4
Leave Henwoods by 9am after breakfast and proceed to kumarakom which is a three hour drive embark on the house boat by 12 pm and start cruising, have lunch on the boat enjoy the backwater as you pass through many villages along lake vemband.on an air-conditioned boat. Enjoy the sun going down as you get closer to Alleppy, the boat anchors at 6 pm at a safe place on the lake side. Spend the night on the boat have dinner and rest.

Day 5
After breakfast disembark at Alleppy and head towards fort kochi which is a 1.30 min drive. Check into Ballard Bungalow the accommodation we used on day one.
Spend the evening in leisure shopping or just relaxing at Kochi.

Day 6
Fly out as per flight schedule the next day as we will transfer to airport on scheduled time. The total cost for 5 days from breakfast on day 2 to breakfast on day 5 and all meals between day 2 to day 4 including all activity charges, entry fees at sanctuary, house boat charges and transportation with air-conditioned vehicle.

The drive is a 4.30-hour drive with a break at the rubber country after a3.30 hours at the foothills of peermade at an old planters club for refresments and a short rest.

Then move on to the hills and check into henwoods bungalow by 2 pm. Here rest a while after lunch and enjoy the panormic greenery in and around the bubgalow set amidst the tea plantations. Just do a walk around along the nature trails to a small waterfall and relax.

By evening spend time with some beverages and snacks served from our local menu. Have dinner and rest.

The drive is a i hour 45 min that traverse the last 25 km through the forest on an open jeep for wildlife sighting.

Gavi, a picturesque land on one of the off-the track destination ideal for a widreness retreat, opening the door to a total outdoors of hills and valleys, tropical forest, sprawing grasslands, sholas, cascading waterfalls and cardamom plantations.

Here the biodiverse nature homes for many endangered species of 260 species of birds, butterflies, trees, medicinal plants, orcids, reeds and ferns.

Elephants, nilgri thar, lion-tailedmacaque, gaurs sambar deer and even the elusive tigers are sighted at close quarters on a trek or on a safari offerd by us. The trekking duration is 3 hours to 5 hours depending on the route you chose. Have a vegetarian meal after your trek served from the south indian menu.

Here just go bird watching in the many trails around, paddle in the still waters to cool off or perhaps settle down watching sunset in this oasis of peace and tranquility.

Back to henwoods by 7 pm and rest. Have dinner and to bed.
