Vagamon is a renowned CHRISTIAN pilgrim center where hundreds of devotees from far and near converge during the holy week and after to climb the hill carrying wooden crosses. On the eastern side of the hill is a rock- cut temple dedicated to MURUGAN ,the son of lord SIVA worshipped by Hindu faith ,further east is THANGALPPARA the mausoleum of SHEIKH FARIDUDDIN found here in the rock ridges which makes this a famous Muslim center.
A largely unexplored area has trail for serious trekker down to the valleys of mundakayam and meenachil were most of the planters at the foothills have rubber .

MARMALA stream.
This stream and its waterfall are sights unique sliding down numerous hillocks from a height of 200 feet .The gushing water has etched out a deep pond in the rocks.
ILLIKKAL KALLU:
Three hills each rising to 4000 feet and above ,together forms this huge hill . Each of the hills has a peculiar shape.One resembles a mushroom and hence KUDAKALLU[umbrella shaped rock]. The second hill has a small hunch on the side and is KOONUKALLU[hunch back rock] ,the third is a half feet wide bridge called NARAKAPALAM [bridge to hell]
ILLIKKAL MALA
The hill is 6000 feet above sea level .Numerous mountain streams in this peak flow down to form the serene MEENACHIL RIVER. A trek up 3 km to the top of the hill takes you to the solitude ,the tranquility ,and its gentle breeze just under the star spangled sky.
